Counselor María Cecilia Gutiérrez Viteri

María Cecilia Gutiérrez Viteri is a professional specialized in international business, trade promotion, and business development, with extensive experience in supporting business internationalization processes and strengthening trade relations between Ecuador and international markets.

She currently serves as Ecuador's Trade Commissioner for the Netherlands, with responsibility for the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. In this role, she works to promote Ecuadorian exports, attract investment, identify business opportunities, and strengthen relationships with companies, trade associations, government institutions, and other key stakeholders in these markets.

Previously, she worked as a Trade Officer at the Ecuadorian Trade Office in New York for over five years, where she focused on promoting Ecuadorian exports and supporting Ecuadorian companies in their efforts to enter and expand within the U.S. market. Throughout her career, she has developed expertise in market intelligence, international trade, business development, institutional relations, and the organization of trade missions, business matchmaking activities, and international events. 

Her professional background also includes entrepreneurship—an experience she considers a vital part of her professional growth, as it provides her with a practical understanding of the challenges companies face when developing a business, entering new markets, and building sustainable commercial relationships. She holds a bachelor's degree from Florida International University and a master's degree in Digital Business from the European University of Madrid.
